I was the girl with zero athleticism. I couldn't run the physical fitness test mile in high school. I was always naturally thin, so I never thought anything of it. Fast forward to my mid-20s and I started to put on weight, my knees hurt all the time, I was winded from one flight of stairs. I was only 28 years old, way too young to be feeling so old. Friends of mine were running a 5k, and asked if I wanted to join. Not knowing where to begin, I consulted my doctor who recommended Couch to 5k. I graduated the program in the summer of 2010. Fast forward to today - I've run 19 half marathons, 3 full marathons, countless 5ks and various other in between distances, as well as a Spartan Sprint. While running is my primary sport, I also enjoy cycling, yoga, and strength training. For 2019 my goal is to run 2 more marathons, at least 2 more half marathons, and anything else I can squeeze in while keeping my body fit, strong, and healthy!
